Pole Buildings

Pole Buildings are buildings constructed on treated poles that are footered 3'-4' in the ground. The 2 x 4 framework is horizontal from post to post with a treated 2 x 8 at the base of the structure. The siding is generally vertical T1-11, steel, board, and baton, or 7/16" OSB backing for vinyl siding. The trusses are set on top of the poles or headers, depending on the type of building. Truss spacing depends on type of roof sheathing, application of the building (agricultural, residential, commercial) and whether interior finish is required. 2' oncenter purlins (2 x 4 or 2 x 6) will be applied to the top of wider span trusses. Plywood, OSB or steel will be installed on top of the purlins or trusses.

All the buildings and trusses will be designed to your local code, so location of the building will get you the right trusses and loadings. Our pricing may vary with loadings and any recent changes the building officials may have instated. There are thousands of varying building codes because local codes may take precedence over national codes. We can help work through your requirements and provide engineered stamped drawings if necessary. We've used these structures for everything from beach-front stilt homes to manufacturing facilities. Call and let us design a specific or standard structure for you.
